A 3-day workshop for principals
A 3-day workshop for principals will be held from 16-18 March 2009 at the auditorium of the Galenbindunuwewa Zonal Education Office.  It will be attended by 30 principals selected from the Zone.  The goal of the workshop is to empower the principals so that they can improve their schools dramatically. The specific objectives are to:

• Analyze strengths, weaknesses  and major issues in implementing the Program for School Improvement in their respective schools;
• Implement strategies to improve students’ performance;
• Command various management techniques to improve the school performance, and
• Mobilize human, physical and financial resources to support student learning.

The workshop will be facilitated by Mrs. E. M. N. W. Ekanayake, Mrs. Amitha Withanapathirana, Mr. Edwin Rathnayake, and Mrs. Padma Wickramasingha under the guidance of Mr. S. M.
